Growing guide for Mimosa Pudica

Mimosa pudica seeds need to be soaked for a couple of hours before sowing.
After soaking place the seeds on top of a good free draining damp compost.
Do not cover the seeds as they need light to germinate.
To help stop damp off it is advisable to cover the surface of the pot with a thin layer of vermiculite.
Place the pot in a propagator or sealed plastic bag at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F).
Check the seeds for germination regularly.
Germination can take up to 30 days (longer if the temperature drops)
When the seeds have germinated, remove from the propagator or plastic bag.
Grow on until the seedlings are large enough to handle.
Re-pot the seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots are an ideal size.
Keep in good light and well ventilated.
When the plants are larger and stronger it is best to re-pot into 20cm (8in) pots.
Be careful not to over-water the plants.
They enjoy an occasional liquid fertiliser feed.
